Ballot registration opens for first blocks in Gungahlin suburb Taylor

October 16, 2017

Ballot registration opens for Taylor’s first single residential blocks on Friday.

Prospective buyers have until February 20 to register for the first land release in the new Gungahlin suburb.

Blocks range from 250 to 578 square metres and are priced from $221,000 to $383,000. There are 34 blocks under $300,000 available for land rent.

Successful registrants will be notified of their place in the ballot draw on March 15 and block selection will take place on March 29 and 30.

Blocks are limited to one per person.

Land Development Agency chief executive David Dawes said the ballot was designed to give prospective homeowners an opportunity to get into the market.

“Settlement on the blocks in the first release is expected in the middle of the year so this is a great chance for people to purchase land in a new suburb that will soon be ready to build on,” Mr Dawes said.

An expo will be held on Saturday, February 11, at the Kamberra Function Centre to give potential buyers more information about the suburb and purchasing process.

Taylor will have about 2500 dwellings in a mix of low and medium-density housing options when completed.

A primary school, local shops, playing fields and green spaces will also populate the suburb.

Taylor is north of Casey and Moncrieff, adjacent to Horse Park Drive and four kilometres from the Gungahlin Town Centre.
