Canberra hotels among national Property Council award finalists

October 16, 2017

The Little National Hotel in Barton is vying for two gongs at this year’s Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards.

The Barton hotel is among three Canberra projects in the running for national recognition.

The Doma Group project has been nominated for two awards: one for best tourism and leisure development, the other for development innovation.

The 120-room hotel was recognised at the Council’s ACT awards in August, described as a project redefining Australia’s accommodation industry.

The Little National Hotel was designed to accommodate public and private sector employees travelling to the nation’s capital for work.

Capital Property Group is also vying for best tourism and leisure development for the Vibe Hotel Canberra Airport.

The Australian National University’s Florey Building is also in the running for an award for best heritage development.

Last year’s national nominees included Canberra Airport, Equinox Business Park in Deakin and the suburb of Franklin.

Franklin, Canberra’s first master-planned community, went on to be named Australia’s best.

The 2017 Property Council of Australia/Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards will be presented at an awards gala dinner on May 5.
