Former Mr Fluffy blocks have been in high demand at auctions this month, with one package in Garran selling for $1.9 million on Tuesday.
The site at 18-20 Sabine Close totalled 1764 square metres and was one of three listings that offered two neighbouring blocks in a package.
Two parcels in Curtin, a 1681-square-metre block at 13-15 McCulloch Street and a 1536-square-metre block at 28-30 Allan Street, each sold for $1,735,000.
Civium Property Group chief executive Doug O’Mara said the three blocks will likely house small townhouse developments.
The sites were among 157 blocks scheduled for auction in March.
The blocks range in size from 562 square metres to 2143 square metres and there are just 18 properties left to go under the hammer on Thursday.
Civum Property Group, which has been responsible for the Woden Valley and Weston Creek sales, wrapped up its March auctions on Tuesday.
The agency has sold 80 of its 87 listings and Mr O’Mara expects more will sell in the coming week.
“The demand has been absolutely astonishing,” Mr O’Mara said.
Mr O’Mara said the largest block to go under the hammer this month, a 2143-square metre parcel at 48 Port Arthur Street in Lyons, was one of the strongest auctions and it sold for $1.1 million.
Independent Property Group has handled the Belconnen, inner north and inner south auctions and project market director Wayne Harriden said blocks in the central suburbs were hotly contested.
Almost 100 parties registered to bid for 18 inner north and south properties at an auction on March 16 and all homes sold at or shortly after auction.
Mr Harriden said a few of the properties went to builders but most of the buyers were building a family home.
A property at 20 Jansz Street commanded the highest price for a single residential block this month, selling for $1.4 million.
A further 18 inner north and inner south properties will go under the hammer at Thursday’s auction.
Prominent addresses at La Perouse Street in Red Hill, Vasey Crescent in Campbell and Mitchell Street in Griffith are among the blocks up for sale.
Mr Harriden recommends that bidders register online prior to the auction.
Mr O’Mara said a “significant number of blocks” would be listed in Kambah and Weston Creek in April.
