Your pets are part of the family, so when you make the decision to move home, it’s only natural you’ll be thinking about how well your new neighbourhood will suit them. Find out if Brisbane is the perfect choice with a quick guide to its pet-friendly parks.

Tuckeroo Park

This Nudgee Beach gem is an excellent park for playing with your pooch. Not only is there all the fun of the shore, including a dedicated dog swimming area, but there’s also an off-leash adventure park packed with fun obstacles for active dogs.

Booker Place Park

If your pup likes a challenge then you have to visit Booker Place Park. It features a large off-leash area and dog agility equipment to get your pooch racing around. The park has a huge range of play equipment including climbing nets, a flying fox and skate ramps so the kids will love going there as well.

Decker Park

In Brighton you’ll find Decker Park, which boasts a well-shaded off-leash park for dogs and some great amenities for their owners. An ocean-themed playground is particularly handy for families with small children and the picnic and BBQ areas make it a good spot for a day out.

Downfall Creek Reserve

Let your dog stretch its legs at one of Brisbane’s biggest off-leash areas (around four hectares) when you take a trip to Downfall Creek Reserve in Virginia. There are no fences to get in the way, a few picnic spots to choose from and, best of all, lots and lots of space.

Elanora Park

Head along to Elanora Park in Wynnum to enjoy a large off-leash area complete with agility equipment for a full doggy workout. Another highlight of this friendly park is the fact it’s right next to a beautiful mangrove boardwalk.
