It’s at this time of year when the sun shines a little longer and the days get warmer that we often think of revamping our homes to say goodbye to cold and gloomy winter days.
We want rooms that scream the season’s vibe and this spring, pastels with bold accents of metallic and copper are on trend.
Interior stylist Emma Blomfield says playing to this season’s trends can be a good guide for renovating your lounge room for under $10,000.
To stick to a modest budget, she recommends “injecting colour” through key pieces.
“Consider maybe changing the carpet and the floorboards and then also investing in a few key pieces like cushions, rugs, soft furnishings and artwork,” Blomfield says.
As for rugs, she says it’s “your opportunity to really inject some colour [on] the floors”.
Replace your curtains with something bright and bold this spring to make the most of the season. You can also use curtains and rugs to add different textures to the room.
Using paint to refresh your lounge room is another budget-friendly option.
“If there’s something structural that needs changing or electrical or plumbing, definitely hire a professional,” she says.
