In 1995, The Hinterland Group emerged from a private home at Kariong. At that time is was known as ‘Hinterland Rural & Real Estate’ with its core business activities centred on rural properties across the central coast hinterland, along with a well established general insurance component. Due to the increasing involvement in residential home sales and management it was appropriate to change the trading name to ‘Hinterland Real Estate’. This change reflected its broader involvement in all facets of Real Estate (rural, residential, industrial and commercial). The business thrived and its growth was such that it required commercial premises in order to maintain its management and level of customer service. In 1998, the agency established itself within Kariong’s busiest shopping centre. That move has proven Hinterland Real Estate to be the accumulated market leader as it continues to make strong growth in the industry with Kariong’s largest and local sales team. The agency is independently owned and operated by a ‘father and son’ team, Ken and Geoff Emms. Ken and Geoff take an active interest in all aspects of the business and pride themselves on the reputation the agency has developed along with the reputation of those who work within it.
