2007 was an exciting year for Elders Real Estate. At the end of January 2007 we moved into our new office located at 17a Forsyth Street. We were all looking forward to this as we had out grown the old office immensely! We are experiencing some what of a boom and happy to be expanding as required. Many other businesses in Whyalla would be reaping the rewards from the resource and tourism boom in our area too. This gave us the opportunity to incorporate Real Estate & Insurance in the one office and become more of a one stop shop; where you can buy, rent and insure your home all in one go! Along with the move we have also said hello to new staff and goodbye to Helen Shepherd, our CSO and administrator. Helen was with Elders for six years and we were sorry to see her go. Helen was ready for the opportunity to pursue other interests, leaving the door open for our new CSO/Administrator Lis Clothier. Lis moved to Whyalla from the Northern Territory and has already made herself a valuable member of the Elders team. With articles appearing in The Advertiser and many other issues through out Australia naming Whyalla as a booming town to invest in, buyers are flocking to our town. These investors are releasing quality homes into the rental market, providing the residents of Whyalla with some good accommodation options. Even though rental prices have increased, tenants are expecting a lot more in return for the money they are paying. Teresa Holland and Tam Murray from our property management department are always happy to meet with property owners and accommodation seekers alike. Quite often we simply have no vacancies and new properties are required all the time. With Libby Norman and Colin Todd there is a sales person right for you. When your thinking of buying or selling, shop around and see who ‘fits’ what you need. We look forward to another exciting year in 2008.
