Founded in 1935, Henzells Agency is today an independent real estate corporation and one of the most respected companies on the Sunshine Coast. Roy Henzell Senior first established Henzells Agency. For over 80 years Henzells Agency has been synonymous with Caloundra property from house, units, land, business and holiday accommodation. Roy’s son Bevan continued the family tradition and almost 40 years after the company had first made its mark in Caloundra. He started work on Henzells Plaza – the shopping and office complex in which Henzells Agency is located today. Bevan passed away in 1982 with his wife Judy and son Roy assuming control of the company. In 1990, Garry Waters was invited into the partnership and on Judy’s retirement in 1991 ownership was passed to Roy & Garry. There is a true family spirit which continues today with the partners carrying the torch into the new millennium guiding projects which had been first envisioned by Roy’s grandfather, nurtured and grown by Bevan and then developed into fruition by current members of the Henzells team. On land purchased by Roy in 1946, Pelican Waters has emerged as the major project developed by Henzells Agency in a long list of developments. It is a thriving community in excess of 5500 residents; a Greg Norman designed golf course, shopping centre, resort hotel and tavern. It caters for waterfront living on canals as well as unit living and residential allotments. Approvals have now been obtained for the final stages consisting of 1575 homes, a marina and a tavern centre. The Caloundra City Private School has set new standards of education on the Sunshine Coast.
