Biloela is located approximately 600 kilometres North-West of Brisbane, 120 kilometres west of the industrial city of Gladstone and 145 kilometres south west of Australia’s beef capital Rockhampton. Biloela is a modern progressive town and is the administrative centre of the Banana Shire, and is located at the junction of the Dawson and Burnett Highways.The population of Biloela is approximately 6,000 people and is the largest centre of the Banana Shire. Industries in Biloela and the Banana Shire comprises power generation from Callide Power Stations, coal production from Callide and Boundary Hill Mines at Biloela and the Dawson Mines at Moura, ammonium nitrate production at the Queensland Nitrate Plant at Moura, Teys Bros export abattoirs at Biloela along with a broad agriculture and grazing industry.
