COMPANY  PROFILEROY WESTON REAL ESTATE, WARWICK, is a long standing member of the local community and has evolved from the original Roy Weston real estate company, first started in 1957. The Principals are Susan and Barry Richards who purchased the franchised office in 1990.Barry first joined Roy Weston, Warwick as a sales representative in 1979 and built up a loyal clientele over the ensuing years. “Things were obviously much different then”, said Barry, “when appraisals were written on the back of business cards and home opens were conducted over a 3 hour period on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.” “It is good to see the professionalism in our industry now and it is advancing at a great rate to the betterment of our clients and the public in general”, he said.In 1987, Barry and Sue ventured into their first Franchise operation and built a network of 3 offices stretching from Balcatta to Wanneroo and including their own Settlement Agency.  Having on-sold this business they returned to their roots and in1989 purchased the business of Roy Weston, Warwick.Susan is the Licence Holder having obtained the Advanced Certificate of Business (Real Estate) Diploma and as such is responsible for the ethical conduct of the business and its entire Staff under the auspices of the Commissioner for Consumer Protection, Department of Commerce. There is a plethora of statutory regulations that have to be complied with these days including Strata Title legislation, The Privacy Act and Disclosure of Interest matters. “These are very time consuming and demand great attention within the operation of our Real Estate business” said Susan. “The integrity of our profession and the trust our clients have in us as Real Estate Agents are of paramount importance”, she said. Barry also holds the Real Estate Diploma. In 1999, Barry & Sue made a quantum leap when they purchased their existing premises in the Warwick Commercial Centre in Dugdale Street. The move doubled their office space and allowed them to implement better conditions, equipment and systems, for the benefit of their clients and staff. The move has been a huge success and provides a stable working environment and a secure base for the future operation of the business. The upheaval in 2008 in world financial and trading markets, and the subsequent world recession in 2009, has demonstrated the importance of maintaining a strong, healthy and vigorous base in business, so that when the good times change to challenging times we are able to survive and prosper in that environment. Even today, our local market has not been affected so much by Global issues as by a correction in the pricing structures. We are fortunate to have had the foresight over the past seven years to plan and build a business model based on our local market.  We are strong in the knowledge that our existing clients are our future and that we must both grow and prosper together in a mutually rewarding relationship. This is how our business has developed over the years. As your local Real Estate Agent, we remain close to the market place and are able to see trends evolve on a weekly and monthly basis, well before they become “official” in the quarterly statistics. Our duty is to interpret those trends and relay this important information to our clients, in an ongoing ethic of fairness to all parties. Forging a Bond of mutual trust is a key plank in our day to day workings with our clients, without which we cannot continue to serve the client. Finally, as a responsible and community minded business, we take genuine pleasure in giving something back to the community that supports us. ROY WESTON WARWICK currently contributes to the following charities and local organisations:• Hawker Primary School. – Major Sponsors Safety House Programme.• Safety House Association of WA.• National Heart Foundation of Australia. (WA division).• Diabetes WA.• Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation (Inc).• Now major contributors to the Ronald McDonald charity which provides housing and support to the families of children with serious illnesses. What’s the secret to our longevity? As Barry and Sue often say….“You won’t go wrong if you look after your clients and your staff”
