In 2010 Towns Shearing was honored by the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania with the “Large Residential Agency Of The Year” award after entering the industry awards for the first time. Managing Director Mr. Noel Towns said “it’s always a privilege to receive recognition from Industry peers statewide, especially when the professionalism and standard of agency practice has improved markedly in recent years”.
At the presentation the Judges said, “Their internal and external business focus as well as their diverse customer service principles really set them apart from the pack in 2010 making them a well deserved winner of this prestigious award.”
Towns Shearing Real Estate commenced trading in 1991 in Launceston as part of a franchise network with only 6 employees including Managing Director Noel Towns, a secretary and 4 untrained salespeople.
From these humble beginnings and after much training, marketing and sheer hard work the company emerged as a market leader, has re-branded several times and now trades as an independent with 34 employees including 4 directors, 13 salespeople, 5 personal assistants, 6 client services personnel, 2 I.T personnel, administration manager, an advertising and marketing manager and 2 other administration staff.
Towns Shearing Real Estate consistently out performs its competitors in the Northern region of Tasmania in both volume of listings and sales – in fact transacting almost every 4th property sale in the area. Before trading as an independent in 2000 as part of a franchise, the
company regularly won the top office Tasmania Award (8 successive years) and reached the number 3 position for the Australian Awards.
The company specializes in residential sales and continues to dominate its market, leading the way with new innovative ideas and technological advances, understanding that one of the greatest challenges faced by modern real estate agencies is embracing and keeping abreast of technology. With this in view Towns Shearing employs two I.T technicians who create and introduce new innovations to provide efficiencies in their operations and better service to their clients.
Towns Shearing directors and staff believe that superior customer service underpins everything else they do. It’s of little value having excellent marketing strategies to draw people to the business if the customer experience does not match the rhetoric. Superior customer
