About Laurie McDonald

In 2003 Laurie McDonald established Canberra Furnished Accommodation by offering short-term rentals of her family investment property.  Today her business comprises more than 50 furnished residences in Canberra with a range of studio, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments in a range of central Canberra locations.

Providing an alternative to hotels and serviced apartments, Laurie offers secure residences with a flexible length of stay and modern, comfortable furniture - without signing a lease.

The business attracts local, national and international guests from corporate, government and diplomatic backgrounds as well as Canberra visitors or locals who may be renovating or moving home. Length of stay ranges depending on the needs of the guests with very competitive rates for longer stays.

During her time with Canberra Furnished Accommodation Laurie has won many awards and accolades, including the prestigous Australian Business Award in 2013, being inducted into the Australian Business Womens Hall of Fame in 2016 and named the ACT Indigenous Business Woman of the Year in 2019.

"There's no reason to be uncomfortable when you are away from home or in between homes. I inspect every property and they won't be added to our portfolio unless I would be happy to stay there myself. You have my personal guarantee that the property will be as indicated on our website, spotlessly clean and with everything in good working order." - Laurie McDonald
