Australian-American artist Illma Gore has created a $130,000 gold-plated toilet that takes the internet’s obsession with designer monograms and logos to the next level.
The main reason the toilet is so expensive (gold plating aside) is because it was made using 24 leather Louis Vuitton bags.
Gore spent three months creating the fully-functioning “Loo-uis Vuitton Toilet” and partnered with designer resale website Tradesy to help source the designer bags, which were themselves worth a cool $19,500.
The toilet was on display in Tradesy’s Santa Monica showroom and would stay there until a buyer was found.
Although the toilet has never actually been used, Gore has said that “many have offered” to test the luxury loo.
This isn’t the first time that Gore’s work has caught the public’s attention, she is the artist responsible for last year’s controversial nude portrait of Donald Trump.
