Actor Bruce Willis is bidding farewell to the almost nine-hectare estate he and his family have called their East Coast home since 2014.
Listing the Westchester County estate on Douglas Elliman Real Estate, Willis and his model and actress wife, Emma Heming, are seeking $US12.95 million ($18.07 million), thanks to the property’s “breathtaking panoramic views of the Croton Reservoir and beyond”, as per its listing.
While the asking price might be steep, the estate is comprised of a total of four houses, 12 bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
According to the listing, the main property is “beautifully landscaped” and boasts five bedrooms, a patio, vegetable garden, saltwater pool, tennis court and two separate two-car garages.
The estate’s second lot is made up of a three-bedroom farmhouse and two smaller houses with four bedrooms between them.
In a statement to the Wall Street Journal this month, the 63-year-old father-of-five said he and Heming wanted to move to the West Coast to be closer to family.
“The only reasons we are giving it up is because we are so far from our California family, which is why we have decided to return to the West Coast and make our home there,” he said.
“Our youngest daughter Mabel said last week that she wishes we could put lots of balloons on our house, like they did in the movie Up, and send it to the West Coast. I agree, that would be perfect.”
The couple purchased the property – which is approximately 60 kilometres from mid-town Manhattan – nearly five years ago for $US12 million ($16.75 million).
Last year, they bought a four-bedroom apartment on the Upper West Side after it was on the market for almost $US8 million ($11.17 million), and had split their time between the two properties.
