A room full of Christmas decorations isn’t everyone’s thing, but that’s no reason to skip the Christmas spirit. Take a minimalist approach to Christmas this year with understated embellishments that are still full of festivity.
Decorate the mantelpiece
The greenery on this mantlepiece is decorated with four gold candles, two red candles, and a wood-block nativity scene (to the left).
Fire up the fairy lights
Twinkle twinkle little star. Here, an intricate web of fairy lights is wrapped around a salvaged branch and hangs over a vintage wood table.
Add decal decor
An abstract decal Christmas tree is a graphic black-and-white addition to this pared-back home, fancied up with hanging paper stars.
String up the slogans
The jingle of bells is rocking this living room. Word banners come with a multitude of Christmas sayings and lyrics. Or get creative and make your own.
Make a starry starry tree
A few subtle stars are suspended from sticks and twigs in this home, while a three-dimensional cut-out tree is set adjacent.
Make monochromatic magic
This black-and-white vignette features a framed Christmas tree, and a wooden string of beads slung with little white twinkling stars.
Light up, light up
Hang a star-shaped pendant lamp in the window to light up your space and let Santa know there’s someone home.
