If there’s one thing new owners of a house from The Block don’t have to worry about, it’s furnishing their new home.
Not only do the TV show’s houses come with furniture, but the eventual buyers of each home will bag everything within its four walls, from fixtures and fittings to artwork and state-of-the-art appliances.
Here is a list of some of the wacky and wonderful things included in this year’s homes.
This Vanilla Cream Bean Bag Lounger was used by House 1 in the kids’ bedrooms, but I can see this being thoroughly enjoyed by people of all ages. Can you imagine an after-work nap on this? Bliss.
Located in the kitchen is this beautiful contemporary Indigenous artwork by Naarm artist Kamilya Lowana White. Coastal Yooroorroom depicts native shrubbery that links saltwater to land.
There’s no excuse to skip your daily exercise at House 1. Thanks to this Pilates reformer in the studio, you can work up a sweat before hitting one of the home’s beautiful showers.
Kyle and Leslie were the winners of this custom-made Christian Cole table, which was the finishing touch of their now-redone living space. It even comes with an in-built lazy Susan.
Revealed recently on the show, Kyle and Leslie’s plunge pool comes with this amazing shower water feature, giving their already stunning back garden an even more relaxing ambience.
While Leah and Ash are the most colourful contestants when it comes to decorating with their bright choices for furniture, this dark-toned painting by Brent Rosenberg, with a retail price of $10,600, is the perfect addition to it all.
Located in their memorable living area is this beautiful coffee table. The Mother of Pearl Coffee Table is perfectly suited to the pops of colour and chrome in the room.
And speaking of colour, this bright red bar cart in the dining area really shows the thought behind the couples’ decorative decisions. Bold!
Not every home on the block comes with free honey, but this one does! This beehive is also a blank canvas, so the kids can paint and decorate it in their own bee version of The Block.
Another standout piece in Leah and Ash’s home is thisFenton and Fenton vase that Leah added to bring that extra pop of colour to their downstairs bathroom.
Not only is this print a stunning statement for any home, the work by Adoni Astrinakis is also a limited edition.
A home for anyone who loves statement art, House 3 comes with not one, but two of Kim Rees’ The Bod sculptures. Talk about a beautiful statement that suits the home perfectly.
This one caused some drama with the judges, who saw it as a tacky addition to the backyard. But this peeing pug is just hilarious!
With the increased interest in vinyl records, Kristy and Brett were smart to include this Audio Techica turntable in their work-from-home set-up.
Similar to the bean bag from House 1, this teepee is just really, really cool … and supposedly for kids. Does it pique any other adult’s interest, or is it just me?
Boucle furniture has been a popular choice on The Block, and, together with the shape of this chair, the fabric’s use on this piece from Urban Road in House 4 is just stunning.
In Steph and Gian’s winning kids’ bedrooms are a plethora of adorable plushies that any child would love. Including this ostrich one, which is undoubtedly my favourite.
Don’t show this hanging chair to your kids and teens, because they’ll want one installed in their room quicker than you can say “tools down”.
With a winning backyard, Steph and Gian have also considered everything you could need to host the best al fresco parties, including this amazing Polito pizza oven.
And on the other end of the spectrum, House 4’s Drip Sauna is the perfect addition to their pool area; a place to fully wind down whenever you need to do so.
I’m sure no one has forgotten about this one. If you love a bit of greenery in your life, this might be one for you. Eliza and Liberty incorporated this moss wall into their downstairs bathroom.
There’s no doubt that this item was largely responsible for the girls’ kitchen success. This Smeg oven is the pop of colour in the kitchen that is consistent throughout the other rooms of the house.
In the listing pictures, this blue bust looks like a regular one. But then you get up close, and realise it’s somewhat mummified. Located in the living room, this dark blue colour compliments other accents throughout the room.
Picture this: a book in hand, your favourite ice-cold drink in the other during a hot January summer’s day by the pool, relaxing on this lounge. If I have to!
There has been plenty of beautiful artwork on this season of The Block (and included in this article!), and this print in Eliza and Liberty’s main bedroom is no exception.
