When you get some harsh criticism on The Block, you really have to dust yourselves off and learn from your mistakes.
That was certainly the case for Eliza and Liberty, who during Room Reveals were slammed for some of their styling choices – with Marty Fox in particular saying: “I think the styling is so bad that had it been empty, I would have been happier.”
But during Episode 11, that sadness transformed into positivity.
The sisters had a consult with Freedom interior designer Deb, who was on-hand to give them some invaluable advice to hone their style.
After seeing a photo of “the room that broke [the sisters’] hearts,” Deb pointed out that they had used gold tapware, there was gold on the ceiling and gold in the coffee tables.
“It’s good,” Deb assured them. “It’s just honing it.”
Her number one piece of advice for the girls was to look more “maturely” at styling, while still keeping their quirk.
“You want to have the luxe, with your quirk,” she told them. “Big pieces of photography would be amazing.”
She also said that it was important to think about how style in one room should flow into another – something the girls took onboard immensely.
“That’s made me feel better,” Liberty said. “So many things I flagged with her she was like, ‘great, great great.’
“It’s just how you put it all together. I feel like I’m back again – it’s worth asking for help and utilising the help around you,”
