Five of the best en suites ever produced on The Block

It’s en suite week on The Block and the atmosphere is tense.

Hayden and Sara are desperate for a win, spending upwards of $7000 on a gold bath, while Kerrie and Spence are making do with less having previously sacrificed valuable floor space for their walk-in-robe.

Courtney and Hans are hoping their terrazzo brings them another bathroom win, Norm and Jess are quietly confident about their marble wall and Bianca and Carla are continuing the timber theme from their guest bedroom into their en suite.

And while so far it’s anyone’s game, it remains to be seen whether this year’s ensuites will rival some of the series’ best.

1. Elyse and Josh: 2017

When Elyse and Josh produced a perfect-score for their master suite, many of the accolades were reserved for the en suite attached, and the striking baby-blue feature wall.

2. Ronnie and Georgia: 2017

Ronnie and Georgia – on the same Block season as Josh and Elyse – were also awarded a perfect score for their guest bedroom and ensuite. Working with a tiny space, the couple’s use of soft colour and simple styling made the room feel bigger than its compact reality.

3. Julia and Sasha: 2016

According to Darren Palmer, Julia and Sasha’s first en suite in season 12 was “the perfect blend between contemporary, classic, and classy”. The others judges agreed, awarding the couple the first win of the season.

4. Josh and Charlotte: Triple Threat

In 2015, Sydney couple Josh and Charlotte reconfigured the floor plan of their South Yarra apartment to create a bigger en suite. Come room reveal, the risk paid off, with the couple producing a near-perfect bathroom, and Shaynna Blaze declaring there was not “one thing” she “didn’t like” about the space.

5. Shannon and Simon: Glasshouse

In the weeks before they took out the season’s overall win, Shannon and Simon invested in a show-stopping wooden bath for their main ensuite, which landed them a late room reveal win.
