It’s ostentatious for sure, and that’s just how Gia Eradze loves it.
The director of the Royal Circus of Russia commissioned Moscow designer Tatyana Myronova to design one of her splendid American Neoclassical interiors for his own apartment.
The designer understood exactly what was needed: “Our people, especially those who grew up in the Soviet Union in the same soulless interiors, should be able to express themselves, show their individuality. And we, as professionals, have to hear, understand and make a customer such an interior in which he will be driving, incredibly comfortable and cool. “
Myonova came up with the concept of “the ultimate love triangle” for her design influence – gold, animals and Versace.
She subsequently filled the apartment with layers of brilliant gold, teaming this with animalistic references and rhinestones to create a stunning, glittering feast for the eyes.
Gold chairs, dressers, chandeliers, mirrors and a golden stucco moulding are just the start. Myonova says the director didn’t hide his fascination for the famous, colourful and intense patterns of the recognised brand, Versace.
“In the apartment, especially in the dining room, this is noticeable in the presence of designs like the gold animals that Gia loves (they include an alligator). Gold is present everywhere in the apartment, in all the details and patterns.”
Key furniture pieces supplied by Covet House include the astonishing Imperfecto armchair by Boca do Lobo and Koket’s whimiscal Mademoiselle armoire with its butterfly doors. The Camilia armoire, which features a golden peacock, reinforces the main living room’s animal theme.
The designer says, “Nothing in this love affair was forbidden.” Consequently, Covet House also supplied pieces from Delightfull, Brabbu, Maison Valentina, Circu, Luxxu, Essential Home, Rug’Society, Foogo and Pullcast.
We especially love the gold-trimmed marble kitchen with its gold tapware, sink and cutlery, the golden pineapple collection on the table, the gold-trimmed cushions and Gia Eradze’s wonderful Versace loungewear.
He blends in so well, he could almost be part of the furniture.
