MTV Australia is rebooting one of the network’s staple shows, bringing a new, improved and outlandish season of MTV Cribs to Australia.

To kick-start the local version, viewers are invited into the idiosyncratic harbourside home of radio presenter Kyle Sandilands and girlfriend Imogen Anthony.

In a 10-second teaser, Sandilands and Anthony throw open the doors of their five-bedroom Mosman rental.

Inside, viewers will find a main bedroom with a large circular bed and neon sign reading “Live Sexy”, a fibreglass deer in the lounge room, a giant giraffe statue beside a zebra-coated couch and walls covered in life-size Maxim magazine covers of Anthony herself.

When announcing the news, head of MTV Asia Pacific Simon Bates said launching the new Australian version with Sandilands and Anthony felt like a natural extension of what the show is about.

“The popularity of MTV Cribs spans decades, and who better than Kyle and Imogen to kick off a look into the inner sanctum of Australia’s biggest and flashiest celebrities,” he said.

The show, which will screen nation-wide in 2019 after the airing of Sandilands and Anthony’s episode in October, will delve into the homes of Australian and international actors, entertainers, musicians, artists and comedians who reside in Australia.

Since its first episode in 2000, the show has peeked inside the homes of the likes of Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot, Kim Kardashian and Richard Branson.

MTV Cribs Australia will air on October 17 at 10.30pm on MTV on Foxtel and Fetch.
