What made you apply for The Block?
It was Bianca’s idea to apply for The Block. She always wanted to go on and she asked if Carla would do it with her and she jumped at the chance – not really expecting to come close to getting on.
Is this your first time renovating?
Bianca has done a few small renovations and Carla has done a small facelift on her apartment.
What room are you excited about renovating?
In previous years, contestants always seem to come undone in bathroom week so we really look forward to taking on this challenge.
Which room terrifies you?
Every week is terrifying, however we have been told that hallway week is hell as there are so many bodies working in a small space.
How would you describe your interior style?
We don’t really have a style, it’s a bit of a mishmash of different things that we like. We aren’t a fan of clutter, preferring the minimalistic look.
What is your secret weapon?
No secret weapon, we just believe in working hard, having a go and getting stuck in.
Which Block judge is your favourite?
We had the chance to speak to Darren Palmer during a challenge and he was lovely. He was generous with his time and knowledge, which has helped us to make some important decisions when it comes to future rooms.
Which previous Blockheads are you drawing inspiration from?
We love Dea Jolly’s styling and choice of materials.
What surprised you most about being on the show, as opposed to watching it?
What you see is what happens, nothing is scripted. Tools down is 9am on a Sunday, there is no extra time or help to complete everything. The all-nighters are real and often!
