What made you apply for The Block?

We love watching the program and, after a Sunday reveal, we thought why not have a crack at this. It’s a phenomenal opportunity.

Is this your first time renovating?

We’ve painted some walls and ceilings before. Pretty sure that doesn’t count!

What room are you excited about renovating?

I think the kitchen will be the most exciting room for us. We both love to cook. The challenges in designing a functional layout, let alone trying to place appliances, select products, styling, flow, storage, lighting, surface finishes, plumbing, textures and orientation – there is SO much to think about.

Which room terrifies you?

Our master bedroom. It is gigantic!

How would you describe your interior style?

Modern with a quirky, eclectic spin.

What is your secret weapon?

Secret weapon? I think we’re the only team without one.

Which Block judge is your favourite?

All the judges offer different opinions. We were lucky enough to get some time with them, although we were a little too polite and stood on the side lines waiting for “our turn”. We only managed a brief chat with Shaynna.

Which previous Blockheads are you drawing inspiration from?

I think we can safely say we are doing our own thing. I would love to be as organised as Ronnie and Georgia. They had the build scheduling nailed.

What surprised you most about being on the show, as opposed to watching it?

I was surprised how quickly your mind and body fatigue. Every facet of The Block is exceptionally difficult. I’m completely astounded by the effort every week. The all-nighters are an absolute killer!
