What made you apply for The Block?
Ultimately we did this for our daughter. In Sydney, it’s very hard to get ahead and it was a scary thought knowing that when she grows up, it would be hard for her to buy a place and pass that on to her children and grandchildren. Everything we’re doing is for her and to help her and our family out.
Is this your first time renovating?
Hayden is a construction manager so he does this all the time but Sara, never before.
What room are you excited about renovating?
We can’t wait to renovate our master en suite and our kitchen. Kitchens sell houses after all!
Which room terrifies you?
Probably the master en suite as we have a lot riding on it.
How would you describe your interior style?
I would say modern luxe with a twist of art deco.
What is your secret weapon?
Hayden joked around a few times that he is our secret weapon. Our build is of a high standard.
Which Block judge is your favourite?
If we say all of them do we get more points?
Which previous Blockheads are you drawing inspiration from?
As we are keeping with our art deco influence, I think our Blockhead inspiration comes from Julia and Sacha. I also loved Ronnie and Georgia’s styling.
What surprised you most about being on the show, as opposed to watching it?
Just the amount of stress you are under. It is a very high pressure situation and that combined with lack of sleep is a whole other situation.
