Tanya and Vito are the only team yet to snag a Room Reveal win on The Block in 2021 and their budget is struggling big time.

In a bid to help them out and give them some handy advice about the future of House 3, the couple were kidnapped by Foreman Dan and taken on a little excursion.

The Block is stepping in to help these two streamline their mid-century style, because of all the couples these are the only team yet to win a room so far,” Scott Cam’s voice-over said.

So, where were they off to? To get some real-life Block inspiration from a house that nailed mid-century styling, Jimmy and Tam’s house from 2020.

“We roll up to the winning house of The Block,” Tanya said.

Vito added, “Jimmy and Tam’s house. It’s our jam, it’s our thing, it’s our genre, you know, so I was really happy they we were going to walk into this home.”

The couple were taken through the home for a VIP tour with Alice Stolz from Domain.

“It was actually really inspiring to walk into their space, seeing it all finished and seeing how it all married together. Every single room has its own personality but there’s continuity flowing throughout,” Tanya explained.

The couple have been going for an old world-meets-new world kind of vibe in their house, but as seen in their master en suite last week, the judges are not into it.

As they made their way out onto the back deck, Shelley Craft — who is also a licensed real estate agent — was also there to give some advice to the struggling couple.

“You’re not renovating for yourself, but realise you’re trying to appeal to as many buyers as possible,” Alice explained.

Tanya admitted they got a lot of feedback, but they were so grateful for the help.

Alice advised them they need to stand out, but for the right reasons.

“It’s a renovation, not a restoration, definitely a renovation, and bringing that home into the new century,” Shelley added.

While mid-century is a lovely style, and like Jimmy and Tam’s house can be done beautifully, it’s not about just reproducing things from the ’50s.

“It’s all about inspiration not replication,” Alice told the couple.

In a post on Instagram after the tour, Tanya and Vito thanked not only Alice and Shelley, but the judges for their feedback.

“When you’re creative you take risks and you’re experimental, it can either be very right or very wrong. So we plan to take on the judges feedback as we truly believe they are helping us get the right buyer for our home. It’s a learning curve but we’re so grateful for this moment!” the couple captioned the post.

With this hit of inspiration and professional advice, hopefully Tanya and Vito can impress the judges and take their first win of the season soon.
