Australians love property. Whether we’re swooning over architecture or debating the issues around affordability, it’s one of the hottest topics of conversations going around. 

In Canberra, the property market had a big year, with an uptick of listings in the second half allowing buyers to be more discerning and to shop around. 

So, what were the homes that grabbed your attention across our regions? Here, we’ve gathered the 10 most-viewed property listings on Allhomes in 2023 that captured the interest and imaginations of Canberrans and our neighbours alike.

Topping the list as the most-viewed property listing on Allhomes in 2023 is 42 Garanya Street, Waramanga. Oozing sophistication, this immaculate home with stone features, a statement fireplace and in-ground pool would have been hard to resist. It was sold by AM Property Agency at auction in October for $2 million.

Coming in at second spot is this expansive property on more than 13 hectares just over the border on the outskirts of Googong’s township. Currently on the market with selling agent Zachary Cunningham of Blackshaw Manuka, if it’s space you’re after, then this five-bedroom residence has that in spades. For the car enthusiasts, you get your own custom shed with two car hoists and space for 15 vehicles.

Canberrans were clearly enamoured with this “jewel in the crown” penthouse on the Kingston Foreshore, which graced the cover of Allhomes magazine on November 4. An ultra-glamorous residence reminiscent of a high-end hotel, the home is helping to set a benchmark in our local architecture scene. The property was sold at auction by Belle Property Canberra on December 14 for $2.26 million.

4 Willcock Place, Curtin came in at seventh place.

Featured in our Allhomes March 14 edition, this stunning contemporary four-bedroom residence wowed with its sleek timber and stone facade, high-end joinery detailing inside and perfect entertaining area outside. It sold for $2.875 million in May by Luton Properties Weston Creek and Molonglo Valley.

After an extensive renovation, this grand residence on one of the most sought-after streets in Canberra sold at auction in November through Blackshaw Manuka after being in the one family for 60 years. No detail was overlooked in its restoration and considering the number of times it was viewed online, the former owner’s efforts were greatly admired.

Lucky last on our list (but certainly not least!) in tenth spot in 2023 was this divine three-bedroom townhouse that was sold by Bastion Property Group in February for $3.15 million. Offering incredible street appeal, craftsmanship and high-end finishes, it was clearly designed and constructed to attract notice.
