Get ready to experience a whimsical wonderland as you approach the pink palace in Narrabundah, where pink reigns supreme in a home full of vibrant personality.

The property at 10 Euroka Street, now on the market, is a charming two-bedroom cottage that is home to Kerry Howard, a former psychologist and mental health specialist.

Located in the sought-after Inner South, the house on 464 square metres of land sports a blush exterior. If that’s not enough to catch your eye, the magenta door certainly will – and the interiors will put a smile on your face.

From the window panes to the cupboard doors, the walls and furniture, a variety of delightful shades of pink add a sense of style to the cheery home.

“I’m sure others think I love the colour pink too much,” Howard said.

“But [the colour] was something I was drawn to in my early 20s and much later, I learnt that from a psychological perspective, magenta makes people think that you know what they’re thinking, which is quite funny … I just vibed this without even realising it.”

When Howard purchased the property in 2015, it was nothing like how it presents today. The former worker’s cottage embodied great character and potential but needed extensive renovations, which Howard took on board.

The magenta door makes a design statement.

“I completely renovated it from the top down with a new roof, external cladding, new insulation and had a solar panel system installed as well,” she said.

“I wanted to give the inside an art deco feel and fill it with modern appliances, too.”

Today, the house has an open-plan dining, lounge and kitchen zone that includes a Falcon range gas cooker, a servery window and, of course, blush cabinetry with cut-glass handles for that extra sparkle.

The pink palette continues throughout the home in everything from the bathroom subway tiles to the bedroom walls and the furniture.

“I love entertaining and having people over for dinners and parties … so this was the ideal set-up with the servery and the dining space, I just loved how it flowed,” Howard said.

“Even in the backyard, I’d often sit in the egg chair out the back and watch the world go by with a glass of wine in my hand … it’s a lovely cottage garden and it has a nice feel to it.”

Howard has hosted many parties in her Narrabundah home.

Parting with the property has not been an easy decision for Howard, but overseas opportunities await.

“I’m going to miss it because I created this space that was a reflection of my personality,” she said.

The residence will go to auction on April 22.
