Just like Australia, the United Kingdom’s property market is also facing uncertain times.
A new listing shows just how expensive it is to buy a house in London, compared to the UK counties.
Advertised through Knight Frank, a block of 10 studios in Erdington, Birmingham, are on offer with a guide price of £1,600,000 ($2.8 million). London’s average house price is £553,000 ($981,844).
The UK House Price Index for August, published in October and released by the Office for National Statistics, reveals that London’s average house price increased by 8.3 per cent over the past year to a new benchmark.

The block of studios on offer are Almshouses (classed as charitable housing) and are currently rented out at £128.35 ($228) per week.
Built in about 1930, the studios are made of brick and single-glazed windows, and feature a relatively modern interior with floorboards, tiled floors, timber cabinetry in the kitchen and whitewashed walls.
Each terrace has its own canopy porch, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom.
