The second stage of sales has launched in Strathnairn, the first suburb in cross-border region Ginninderry.
Registrations for 122 residential blocks opened on Friday. A ballot process will select buyers.
Blocks range in size from 250 to 810 square metres priced from $204,560 to $478,360.
“After many years of planning, the initial stages of Ginninderry are taking shape,” Ginninderry project director Steve Harding said.
“We’ll welcome our first residents later this year, and a groundbreaking new display village is under construction, so now is a great time for those considering land to take a look at how we’re doing things differently.”
Among stage two will be the Community Recreation Park.
“This will deliver an incredible amenity for residents with the 2.7-hectare park to include recreation areas, walking trails, modern playgrounds, barbecue spaces and an impressive amphitheatre,” Mr Harding said.
“We’ll also have mixed-use courts for basketball, netball and soccer along with cricket nets and all of that sits alongside the vast natural amenity offered by existing conservation areas that are such a feature of the area.”
It is the largest number of blocks to be offered in a single release for Strathnairn.
According to the ACT government’s 2018/19 Indicative Land Release Program, a total of 300 dwellings were due to come onto the market in Strathnairn this year.
Excluding the 122 blocks, 65 have so far been brought to the market, among them were 25 affordable flexi-living homes, 12 house and land packages, 20 terrace blocks and one multi-unit site.
The terrace blocks and the multi-unit site went under the hammer in September last year and fetched close to $5 million in total.
Altogether, a total of 241 blocks have sold in the suburb.
The region is the first to straddle the NSW and ACT border. But chief minister Andrew Barr has called for the ACT border to be moved to incorporate the NSW side.
Ballot registrations will close on June 2, and the block selection sessions will be held on June 22 and 23.
