Just one week after the Prime Minister ditched the auction of his Dulwich Hill investment property, he has purchased a waterfront home on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Anthony Albanese bought the home for $4.3 million, 2GB Breakfast host Ben Fordham revealed today in an exclusive.

The four-bedroom property is on the cliffs of Copacabana, and is described in the listing as a “large architecturally-designed home” with “uninterrupted ocean and Sydney skyline views”.

It features timber cathedral ceilings, an open-plan kitchen, a generous master suite, large double garage, and outdoor entertainment deck.

“A premier location to enjoy sun, whale watching, or spectacular sunsets year-round,” the listing says.

Speaking off air to Fordham, Albanese said his intention in buying the house was to be closer to his fiancée Jodie Haydon’s family.

“I’m about to get married to Jodie and start a new chapter of our lives. Jodie’s a Coastie, and spending time with her up there is awesome,” he said.

“It will be nice to be closer to her parents and her family one day.”

The property was sold by McGrath Avoca Beach’s Steve Nixon, and had been on the market for 344 days before it was scooped up by the PM.

The property sold for $1.7 million in 2017, and then in 2021 was bought by the vendors for $4.65 million, 2GB reported.

They sold to Albanese at a $350,000 loss on their original purchase price.

Contracts were reportedly exchanged in September, and final settlement will take place at the end of October.
