If you’re looking for a Canberra real estate agent brimming with enthusiasm and drive then Ray White Belconnen’s Sebastian Gutierrez might be for you.

Gutierrez has been crowned the region’s best up-and-coming sales agent at the inaugural Allhomes Rising Star Awards.

He was among two trailblazers recognised at an awards ceremony at the Boat House on Wednesday.

Thomas Hathaway, of Hathaway Real Estate, has been crowned best property manager.

The awards shine a light on real estate’s emerging leaders in the ACT and surrounding region.

Finalists in both categories are 18 to 30 years old, or have been in the industry for less than two years.

This year’s talent demonstrated their use of innovative solutions and marketing to achieve a competitive edge; an understanding of client experience and a willingness to go above and beyond; and their biggest achievement or career milestone to date.

Gutierrez was among 11 selling agents vying for an award.

The 27-year-old agent sells property in the Belconnen region with a particular focus on Kaleen.

He has already won Ray White’s Allan White Premier award, recognising agents who have achieved $300,000 gross commission in a year.

Gutierrez’s passion for real estate, commitment to innovative marketing, and dedication to his clients shone throughout the judging process.

He attributes this energy to his South American background.

“I like to bring that to the table, to show my clients I’m not going to leave any stone unturned,” he says.

Gutierrez says his number one goal is to “not change who I am”.

“Who I am is what got me here today,” he says.

Hathaway was among five finalists vying for the property management award.

The ambitious 29-year-old forged his property management career in 2008 and, in the past year, has opened his own business, Hathaway Real Estate.

Hathaway’s big goal is to transform his business into a multi-national organisation.

“It’s going to take a lot of work but I hope I get there,” he says.

Belle Property Kingston’s Rina Jones and Badenoch Real Estate’s Hannah Reid were runners up in the sales and property management categories respectively.

As part of the prizes, this year’s winners will get to drive a BMW for the week.
