The architect-owner of 49 Links Avenue in Concord has aligned three large picture windows to give an unimpeded view of the verdant back garden from the foyer – what a lovely distraction to walk inside and be visually transported back outside again.

The first and second windows bookend a decorative fish pond surrounded by greenery, while the third window overlooks the backyard, where a lush, level lawn is framed by a low stone wall and established tropical plants, with a cubby house in the corner.

An elegant formal living-and-dining room sits at the front of the home, with carpet underfoot, and the more casual family living spaces are at the back of the home and feature on-trend polished concrete floors.

Here, raked ceilings and a northerly aspect provide bucketloads of natural light, with a set of large glass sliders opening onto an inviting, covered barbecue terrace.

The glossy white kitchen has a marble island bench with breakfast-bar seating and integrated appliances including a fridge/freezer, Smeg oven and gas cooktop.

The bedrooms straddle a split level, with the “kids’ wing” on the first rise. Each of the three bedrooms on this level has a built-in wardrobe and two open onto a generous front balcony. There’s also a family bathroom and separate toilet.

On the upper level you’ll find a true parents’ retreat with a 25-square-metre sitting room leading to a large bedroom, walk-in wardrobe and a fully tiled en suite with oversize shower and twin vanities.

There is an abundance of storage throughout, starting with the three-car garage with internal access and room for a workshop at ground level.

Add to this a cellar and under-stair storage, plus there are multiple linen cupboards.

LJ Hooker’s Ben Horwood says the location is an asset, set in what is arguably one of Concord’s best streets, and believes the family-friendly layout will be a key drawcard.

He’ll take the property to auction on May 19, and currently has a price guide of $2.5 million.
