The ever-evolving world of real estate can be daunting – and despite living in an age where technology is at our fingertips – the information needed to buy or sell your home can sometimes be difficult to find.
It’s an experience that business development consultant of CBRLife, Kevin Li, found overwhelming when he was looking to purchase his first property, and it’s why his company has organised the Australia Property and Education Expo in a bid to inform others in the same situation.
“When people are making a decision to buy their first house, we know there is a lack of information – not just about the property market but about the loan process – and it can cause stress,” Li said.
“The reason we’re running the expo is that we want to provide people with the knowledge about what the property market looks like before they purchase a home.”
The expo will feature more than 70 exhibitors, as well as informative seminar presenters from the property and real estate industry.
One of the seminar presenters on the day will be Mario Sanfrancesco of Blackshaw Manuka, a name synonymous with record-breaking sales in Canberra.
Sanfrancesco said it’s important for buyers to be informed before making the large financial commitment of buying a house.
“It’s a big decision to buy a house, and most people are borrowing to buy. That means committing to a mortgage – so it’s a long-term thing,” Sanfrancesco said.
There’s also a lot of variable information between different states and territories in Australia, he said.
“If people are moving to Canberra from somewhere outside of the Territory, there are different requirements in terms of how a sale is transacted, and the provision of a building report,” Sanfrancesco said.
While Sanfrancesco will be presenting about Canberra’s market and property trends, there will also be a variety of seminar topics including essentials for first-home buyers, property investment, mortgages, and migrant education.
Attendees will also be able to ask questions of the presenters in a Q&A format, and chat to builders, home decor experts and representatives from educational institutions.
“Canberra offers a great lifestyle in terms of value for money, some properties that sell here would be 10 to 20 times the price in some other cities,” Sanfrancesco said.
“I’ve been in this industry for 28 years now and I’m still learning.”
The Australia Property and Education Expo will be held on November 26 and 27 at the National Convention Centre in Canberra.
