In our candid new property series, celebrities and prominent Australians take us behind closed doors and share their five favourite things around the home.
These pieces could be anything, but all carry meaning.
Our At Home series launched with former politician Julie Bishop and continues with model, athlete and TV personality Jett Kenny, who lives on the glorious Sunshine Coast.
Jett Kenny has sport in his DNA with a former Olympic swimmer for a mother and an Ironman champion for a father.
The 28-year-old son of Lisa Curry and Grant Kenny is not only following in his dad’s footsteps as an Ironman, but also forging his own career path as an IMG model and brand ambassador.
With a following of over 65,000 on Instagram, Queensland-based Jett lets us inside his home and shares five of his most-beloved things.
“The most important room in the house, my gaming room. This is where I spend my down-time relaxing. Either watching anime, catching up on my favourite shows or gaming with my mates.
“People ask me how I can spend so much time inside gaming. Well, when you spend most of your time at the beach training and working, it’s a nice relaxing change from being in the elements, and where I can get into my element.”
“My all-time favourite spot for an afternoon beer or glass of red with dad. Chucking on a hoodie, trackies and a beanie over winter, board shorts over summer and enjoying the sunset in all its glory, and the occasional lightning storm whenever they roll through.
“I’m very blessed living on the Sunshine Coast. There’s the benefits of being able to grab a kayak or surfboard and jump straight on the water. Whether it’s to go for a float, train, get some sun or just escape to the ocean… whenever you may need.”
“Dad decided one day that the house needed a gym, so he took to the internet and found a bargain. It has been a great addition to the 28-year-old house. More used by myself, if I can’t make it to training or don’t have much time, it’s perfect for pumping out a quick session.”
“Pokémon Yellow was my first introduction to the world of gaming. I remember mum bringing home this yellow square and a big brick with a screen. My love for Pokémon started then.
“Sadly, when doing a clean-up of the house, mum thought it was a good idea to donate all my old Pokémon cards to either the op shop, or the dump. Who knows what value those cards could have held nowadays?
“But a little nostalgia here and there with the collection of some of the newer Pokémon cards. Hopefully one day they’ll turn in to an investment… I can only hope, anyway.”
Known for his rippling physique and dedicated fitness regimen, Jett keeps his health in check.
One of three freezers at his home is always filled with Fitness Outcome meals – one of his roles is as an ambassador for the brand – and other treats.
To stop him from eating out at lunch, Jett says he keeps good food on hand to keep his body in top form while he’s training.
