Capturing the natural beauty of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Bayview epitomises the idylls of coastal living. The gentle waters of Pittwater shimmer to the north, while the Bayview Golf Club awaits to the south. Adjoining the suburb is the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

This splendid backdrop enriches Bayview’s daily life, welcoming residents to watch sunrises over the bay, sip coffee at the waterfront 8 Knots Cafe, and fill days sailing or taking leisurely walks in one of the many lush parks.

The beauty of Bayview

Despite its sense of seclusion, the suburb has strategic appeal, according to Tara Jaijee of Ray White Prestige. Its proximity to Mona Vale grants access to extensive amenities and swift transport options to the city, enticing those seeking the best of both worlds.

“Bayview appeals to a diverse group, including downsizers, retirees, and families,” Jaijee says. “The suburb’s wealth of activities, from water sports to tennis and golf, together with its region’s upscale dining and cafe culture, foster a profound affection for this locale among its residents.”

According to Domain’s December 2023 House Price Report, Bayview’s median house price is $2.933 million. Waterfront homes can fetch upwards of $16 million, while premiere properties also reside on the ridgeline, such as 5c Gilwinga Drive, priced at $17 million.

“Discerning buyers gravitate towards expansive, secluded properties, be it large estates on acreage or exclusive waterfront homes, of which there are fewer than 30,” Jaijee says. “These properties are highly coveted for their privacy, luxury, and direct access to Bayview’s scenic landscapes.”

Calm and creativity on the coast

On the coast, calm and creativity flourish, exemplified by Nina Reynolds, of her eponymous ceramics studio. Relocating from London to the northern beaches 15 years ago, Reynolds and her husband planted their roots in Bayview.

“Initially, we settled in Manly, where we started our family, but over time, we gravitated further north until we settled into our forever home in Bayview,” reflects Reynolds.

“Of all the places I’ve lived throughout my adult life, this is undoubtedly the most captivating and fulfilling.”

Reynolds highlights Rowland Reserve as a cherished local gem where simple joys unfold as their dogs frolic freely off-leash in the water, as she and her husband sip coffee and take in the water views.

“Bayview offers all the conveniences and comforts of a thriving coastal community, yet it also provides an escape with large open spaces and a semi-rural lifestyle,” Reynolds adds. “There’s even a smattering of horses and sheep for good measure.”
