A Californian oceanfront estate featured in HBO’s hit series Big Little Lies has been listed for sale with an asking price jaw-dropping as its sweeping waterfront views.
The mansion, which is featured in the scene where the characters Reese Witherspoon and Adam Scott go on a couples therapy retreat, is up for $40.3 million.
The stunning property is located in Carmel-by-the-Sea, a small beachside locale in California’s Monterey Peninsula.
Boasting post-card views of Carmel Bay, the blue-chip property is spread over 8500-square-metres of supreme oceanfront land.
The mansion features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a host of opulent benefits.
‘Lodge at Spindrift’, as it’s known, offers a grand living area with floor to ceiling windows, a professional kitchen, a grand master suite, a two-storey library and a separate breakfast room with unreal water views.
Other features only to be expected of a circa-$40 million home include a sizeable pool and spa, gym, sauna and a secondary kitchen.
Anyone who’s a fan of ’90s cult classics may also recognise the mansion from its brief appearance in the 1992 thriller Basic Instinct, starring Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas.
And the lucky new buyer could even pick themselves up a bit of a bargain.
The beach house was listed for sale just a few years ago with an asking figure of$71.8 m, meaning it’s currently almost half-price.
Talk about a Big Little bargain.
