Bellevue Hill reigns as Australia’s most expensive suburb, but movements in the top ten show fresh patterns of deep spending.

The suburb retains top spot, even after a 3.3 per cent dip in the median house price compared to last year, when it was also number one.

Bellevue Hill is the only suburb in Australia with a multimillion-dollar median that starts with a number eight.

The top ten, according to Domain’s House Price Report (December) have a combined median of $55,669,000.

Mosman and Barangaroo, along with Bellevue Hill, also experienced cooling medians.

Unsurprisingly, all of the magic ten are in New South Wales, and some have experienced double-digit median increases, to land them in elite territory.

North Bondi had the greatest price growth of the top ten, lifting 26.3 per cent over 12 months.
