There’s been plenty of speculation about Beyonce and Jay Z’s latest property acquisition in LA, and now it turns out they’ve picked up a mansion on the US east coast as well.

The couple is reported to have paid $US25,925,000 ($32.6 million) for the seven-bedroom home in – where else – the Hamptons.

Specifically, East Hampton in New York State, with 60 metres of waterfront on Georgica Pond, a coastal lagoon that is also overlooked by Stephen Spielberg.

They actually got somewhat of a discount, too. The 100-year-old, 1114-square-metre pad was last priced at $28,995,000 in 2013.

It’s been on the market since 2009, when it was listed for $US39.5 million.

Since then there’s been two successive price cuts – $US4.5 million after a year, then another $US5 million was again slashed off.

The home sits on 8000 square metres of land and is adjacent to a reserve, with seven and a half bathrooms with luxuries such as marbled shipped in from Verona, Italy.

There’s also an infinity pool, spa and separate guest house.

It was designed by Stanford White, a well-known late-19th century American Renaissance architect who quite fittingly specialised in drafting up homes for the rich and famous.

The previous owner renovated it in 2008, which reportedly involved rotating the house so the living room overlooked the water. As you do.

Aside from their successful house hunting, the R&B royal couple recently welcomed their new twins, Rumi and Sir, in August.
