Potential buyers have until 2pm next Tuesday to lodge bids for three sites at New West Industry Park in Hume, Canberra’s growing industrial precinct.

Block sites range between 22,671 square metres and 32,211 square metres and are zoned for a variety of uses including warehousing and many types of businesses.

New West Industry Park is 17 kilometres south of Canberra’s CBD and 14 kilometres from the Canberra International Airport.

It is conveniently located between the growth centres of Tuggeranong and Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra and the continually growing suburbs of Tralee and Googong.

The estate comprises 56 hectares on level or gently undulating land.

A Land Development Agency spokesman says the park had a number of competitive advantages.

“New West Industry Park is a convenient and refreshing alternative to other industrial estates within Canberra due to its central position,” he says.

“Prices are competitive and blocks have access to the latest fibre optic network technology. Some blocks face the Monaro Highway, south Canberra’s major freight access road.”

“With diversity in block sizes, usage types and land zoning available, this flexibility allows for a wide variety of businesses to establish and succeed there,” the spokesman says.

Civil Construction is complete for most stages and a variety of blocks are ready to build on now.

One new tenant has already been locked in for the overall Hume development.

The Dickson motor vehicle inspection station will be relocated to the industrial park.

The Hume precinct is part of the ACT government’s annual land release program that will also extend existing industrial sites, including an extra 10,000 square metres of mixed use land at Symonston’s Amtech Estate.

The ACT government is set to reap $629,801,000 from its overall residential, commercial and industrial land release program during this financial year, according to the territory budget.
