Ralph Lauren is among the big name brands set to open at the Canberra Outlet Centre.

Brand lovers can look forward to a fresh shopping experience later this year that will be packed with big fashion names.

Canberra Outlet Centre in Fyshwick has begun a reconfiguration of floor space that aims to deliver a premium brand mall in time for Christmas. It will be located on the western side of the centre near Harris Scarfe, towards Lindt and the food court.

The new mall will feature high-end finishes including architecturally designed floor and ceiling treatments.

Graham Terry, managing director of specialist retail property manager the RetPro Group, says a number of global fashion icons will operate flagship stores in the refreshed space.

“Our leasing team has been working with a range of international premium retailers and I can confirm the inclusion of Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein,” he says.

“These global brands will deliver a new level of premium shopping into the ACT and also give international visitors plenty of luxury buying options.”

Terry says Canberra the decision to develop the new mall recognises Canberra has experienced major changes in the past few years.

“There’s been the introduction of the international airport and the city being named in the top three best cities by Lonely Planet,” he says.

“International visitors expect to see major brands at locations like the Outlet Centre.”

The RetPro Group is also in discussion with a wider range of potential tenants including other fashion, footware, accessories, home and giftware specialists.

A second stage of the mall could potentially see the inclusion of gourmet food and beverage outlets.

The existing centre already hosts a range of international and national brands including Nike, Under Armour, MacPac, Freedom, TK Maxx, Cue, Sheridan, Adairs and more.

The centre’s renaissance began two years ago when it was bought by Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH as part of its global real estate portfolio.

That change of owner has since delivered Fyshwick’s only supermarket with the opening of SuperGrocer in the centre in 2018.

The RetPro Group which specialises in retail property management, retail advisory and leasing, has managed the centre for the past six years.

Terry says the overall business focus is in delivering a unique retail offering to consumers and enhancing the customer experience.

“It is an exciting time for the centre with more for shoppers to look forward to as it continues to evolve into a retail destination for home and fashion,” he says.

Canberra Outlet Centre, 337 Canberra Avenue, Fyshwick, open daily 10am to 6pm.
