Boost Juice founder and franchise heavyweight Janine Allis has offloaded her Fairhaven beach house for a whopping $10 million.
Ms Allis has owned the Great Ocean Road property for more than two decades, purchasing what was then a humble beach shack back in 2000 for $1.1 million in her husband Jeff’s name.
The shack, and now mansion, is a celebrity in its own right, after featuring in George Miller’s 1979 seminal movie Mad Max.
The “Mad Max” beach house was subject to an extensive makeover some years ago and now stands tall as a three-storey mansion with superlative views and direct access to Fairhaven beach.
The 3008-square-metre property is bordered predominantly by Crown land and features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, parking for four, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a media and games room.
The sale of 310 Great Ocean Road was handled by Great Ocean Road Properties of Aireys Inlet, and director Marty Maher said it was a record-breaking price for the region.
“It’s a record sale for the Surf Coast, and I thought it was worth it – it was just a matter of finding the right buyer,” Mr Maher said.
Ms Allis’ beach house was listed for sale earlier this year, but, as Mr Maher explained, the pandemic hampered the property’s campaign early on.
“We were always confident we’d sell it. It sort of got a bit delayed because of COVID – not being able to hold inspections for a while – but the right buyer came along and was comfortable paying the number,” he said.
Mr Maher added that the $10 million deal had superseded another record-breaking sale on the Surf Coast from just a few months ago.
No. 4 Ocean Boulevard, Jan Juc, sold on September 2 for $8 million, and Mr Maher also handled the sale of the 3925-square-metre property.
The news comes as Ms Allis and her husband, Jeff Allis, offload more than $30 million worth of real estate in 2021.
The couple sold their avant-garde Toorak mansion in March of this year for an eye-watering $22 million.
As Domain reported, the five-bedroom, five-bathroom mansion sold less than 24-hours after the first private inspection.
