This cheap London rental could be yours, but you have to live with your landlord and their mother.

A cheap as chips London rental is up for grabs, but it comes with unusual roommates.

Listed on OpenRent, “a small box room” in a shared house is available for just £400-a-month ($695), but you have to live with your landlord and their mother. And only women need apply.

Yes, you read right. The property, located in Thornton Heath in Greater London, would see you chilling with your landlord and their mother after a hard day’s work.

The landlord makes it clear in the listing that they are seeking a “quiet, clean and tidy female” that is a non-smoker and “must be working full-time outside of the house”.

One positive is that bills are included in the monthly rental price and WiFi is available.

The “box room” is certainly that with a single bed crammed up against the wall.

It’s also in a messy state with packed-to-the-brim shopping tote bags on the floor next to the bed.

There is limited storage with just one tiny wardrobe, and potential renters are encouraged to “store items under the bed”.

The future renter will have access to the kitchen, bathroom and garden, and a cleaner visits twice a month.

Photos for the listing are unappealing with a messy kitchen countertop and a shower seat on full display.

The property is a 10-15 minute walk to the local train station and supermarkets.
