Britney Spears falls victim to cruel real estate hoax

Hackers have reportedly targeted Britney Spears.

TMZ claimed on Monday that the American pop star’s mansion in Thousand Oaks, California, was listed by real estate website hackers on Realtor.com before her management team ensured its swift removal.

The five-bedroom Italian villa was listed on Realtor.com for $US8,995,000 ($AU13,760,137), before other real estate sites such as Zillow followed suit with their own listing.

TMZ understands Spears’ team came across the listing, contacted the agents who were displayed on the listing (who claimed to have had no involvement), and ensured its swift removal.

Sources reportedly told TMZ that the “whole thing was a hack”.

Spears purchased the property named Villa Bellosguardo in 2015 for $US7.4 million ($AU11.3 million).

The mansion is located in the prestigious White Stallion Estates and offers idyllic mountain views.

Standout property features are the infinity pool, tennis court, mini golf course, media room, pool house and 3500-bottle wine cellar.

Spears often features the home in her numerous dance videos shared to Instagram.
