Properties in upmarket suburbs are attracting solid results, as shown by the recent sale of a striking architect-designed house at 29 Jacka Crescent, Campbell, which exchanged hands for just shy of $3 million.

The brand-new four-bedroom, three-bathroom home sold within a week of being listed and after only two open-for-inspections.

Belle Property Canberra’s Samantha Linsdell said Campbell has long competed with the Inner South suburbs over the bridge but was also drawing buyers from the premier northern suburbs.

“I’ve been working in the Campbell precinct for 13 years and the suburb is definitely on the radar with enquiry numbers up,” she said.

“The C5 precinct has transformed [the area] with lots of new development, sought-after amenities and popular cafes and restaurants.

“We had strong interest in 29 Jacka Crescent as there are not many knockdown-rebuilds for sale in the suburb.”

A young family looking to upgrade purchased the residence, Linsdell said.

“The home is in a lovely tree-lined street close to all amenities, with the property offering a pool and high-end features,” she said.

Designed by The Mill: Architecture + Design and built to exacting standards, the property offers towering ceilings, a high-energy rating, plenty of storage, a generous open-plan living and dining area, a second rumpus room upstairs, a mudroom and a designer chef’s kitchen.

Campbell has become one of Canberra’s fastest-growing areas, according to Domain data, with the median house price rising 7.4 per cent over the past 12 months to reach $1.735 million.
