When you think of a security gate you would imagine it to be, well… secure.
But Twitter users in the United Kingdom have been left scratching their heads over the installation of what appears to be a building’s brand new steel gate.
The Design Fails Twitter account has shared a photo of a property’s security gate, and while on first glance it looks unshakeable enough, it features a glaring error.

There is a snazzy looking intercom panel but the gate itself is in the form of a ladder, allowing potential intruders easy access.
“Security gate that doubles as a ladder,” the photo was captioned, soon attracting over 30,000 likes and over 5,000 re-tweets.
Twitter uses were quick to note the irony, with one commenting “so the thieves can climb over the gate?”
Another added “why waste money putting (in) the security device?”, as well as one who said “when you invest in tech and forget the basics”.
