24 Porter Street, Wright offers exceptional entertainment spaces.

Young couples and families headlined this weekend’s auctions with a spate of lower to mid-range homes selling under the hammer while more prestigious homes were thrown into negotiation.

The striking executive family home at 24 Porter Street, Wright, didn’t sell after being advertised at $1.45 million-plus, with the agent now revising the asking price after it was passed in at auction.

Irwin Property’s Jonathan Irwin said they had one registered bidder on the day, but a few other buyers were interested in the property.

“Those were conditional buyers, so we are currently negotiating with the registered bidder before setting a new price,” he said.

Irwin said they were still reporting a 100 per cent success rate, so properties were still selling.

The thoughtfully designed and built three-year-old residence offers distinctive living spaces, including a separate formal living area, casual rumpus/media room with sliding doors, a north-facing family/meals room adjacent to the kitchen and an alfresco area at the rear.

Set on a 486-square-metre landscaped block with views to Black Mountain tower, the outdoor entertaining area provides a sunken fire-pit zone, custom concrete bench with barbecue, bar fridge, pizza oven and al fresco dining.

Elsewhere, Steve Langford from Hive Property sold the four-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 5 Mundawari Circuit, Ngunnawal, under the hammer for $980,000.

Langford said there were three registered bidders on the day, adding that the “selling price was within their expectations”.

A young family was also upgrading in Casey after purchasing the larger residence at 12 Kimmorley Street.

MARQ Property’s Luke McAuliffe said they had two registered bidders on the day, with the property selling for $1.125 million.

Built by the highly-regarded builder McDonald Jones Homes only six years ago, the beautifully presented home provides outstanding family living accommodation, including generous indoor and outdoor areas, four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Also on a 486-square-metre landscaped block, the home is just a short stroll from Casey Marketplace and close to primary and secondary schools and the Gungahlin town centre.

Home. byholly’s family team, Jenny, Michael and Mark McReynolds with Cris O’Brien, had three registered bidders on the home at 67 Higinbotham Street, Watson, which sold on the day for $1.406 million.

The sun-drenched 1960s three-bedroom-plus-study home has been extensively updated and provides spacious contemporary living areas skillfully combining old and new.

Located in one of Watson’s popular leafy streets, the impressive home is near major schools, transport, vibrant shopping precincts and expansive parklands.
