A downsizer snapped up the recently built home at 27B May Maxwell Crescent, Gilmore for $811,000.

Several strong sales have been recorded on a supercharged weekend when 79 properties were expected to go to auction in Canberra.

Richard Luton of Luton Properties sold both 27A and 27B May Maxwell Crescent, Gilmore, under the hammer on Saturday.

The rear property at 27B was the first to go to auction, attracting four registered bidders and ultimately selling for $811,000. The underbidder from that sale quickly secured the adjacent 27A property for $705,500.

Luton said the seller had utilised the RZ2 zoning in 2023 to build the home at 27B at the rear, where they lived while renovating the original house at the front.

“Both three-bedroom properties were beautifully presented with the newer property having the additional feature of an en suite,” he said.

In Wanniassa, Mark McCann from McCann Properties sold the immaculate four-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 87 Wheeler Crescent for $960,000, just above the reserve.

“It was a strong result, with the auction attracting two registered bidders on the day,” he said.

Set on a 981-square-metre site, the stylishly updated house featured sun-filled formal and informal living spaces, a covered pergola and a double carport.

The stylish house at 106 Learmonth Drive, Kambah is on the market for $1.12 million.

McCann also auctioned the stunning four-bedroom residence at 106 Learmonth Drive, Kambah, which was passed in and is now on the market for $1.12 million.

He said the agency had received interest from an overseas buyer so they were hopeful it would sell in the coming week.

Situated in one of Kambah’s most sought-after pockets, the impressive house is set on a generous 883-square-metre block and features mountain views and an expansive entertainment deck.

In Oxley, The Property Collective’s Obi Shadmaan passed in the renovated four-bedroom house at 15 Raphael Close, and it is now on the market for over $999,000.

The freshly painted house offers a spacious floor plan, a separate studio with en suite, and an oversized double garage.

Blackshaw Manuka’s Mario Sanfrancesco sold the John Scollay-designed four-bedroom, five-bathroom house at 19 Talbot Street, Forrest, and the luxury six-bedroom, four-bathroom residence at 18 Couvreur Street, Garran, but the results were undisclosed.

Mixed results were recorded during the week as well.

On Wednesday, the three-bedroom house at 18 Coningham Street, Gowrie, was passed in through Belle Property’s Bree Currall and is on the market for more than $850,000.

On Thursday, the two-bedroom townhouse at 25 Greene Place, Belconnen, sold through Ray White for $585,000.
