Despite healthy attendances across the Canberra auction weekend, many buyers remained on the sidelines, watching rather than bidding on the day. Still, some clear standouts caught attention and sparked competition.
McCann Properties, Mark McCann had two auctions in Wanniassa on Saturday, with both attracting strong interest, resulting in one property selling well above expectations.
The striking four-bedroom house at 1 Harker Place was sold under the hammer for $1.271 million after seven registered bidders fought it out on the day.
Situated on an expansive 1101-square-metre allotment in a peaceful cul-de-sac, the immaculate multilevel residence offers separate family, living and dining areas and two double garages.
The luxuriously renovated residence at 34 Langridge Street attracted two registered bidders but did not sell. The property has an asking price of $979,000.
On a 692-square-metre block, the tastefully presented house provides a thoughtful and spacious floor plan. It is ideally positioned within walking distance to Tuggeranong Lake and is close to schools, shops and arterial roads.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Purnell’s Steph Hoss passed in the beautifully transformed four-bedroom house at 14 McIntyre Street, Narrabundah.
Hoss said the property attracted three registered bidders on the day, and they were currently negotiating for a price between $2.3 million and $2.4 million.
Located just moments from the Parliamentary Triangle, the fully renovated residence offers spacious open-plan indoor and outdoor living areas, a gourmet kitchen, butler’s pantry and stunning finishes and fittings throughout.
In Campbell, Jack Wilson from Cream Residential passed in the property at 10 Jackson Street, which had been quoted at over $1.9 million.
Set in one of Campbell’s most sought-after enclaves at the base of Mount Ainslie, the expansive and elevated residence comprises separate living and dining areas, four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Wilson said there were conditional buyers interested in the property, and he was hopeful of a sale during the week.
There were some strong sales among the mixed results recorded during the week. Stone’s Jess Smith sold the three-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 104 Wighton Terrace, Casey, for $1.3 million while Belle Property sold the two-bedder at 24 Euroka Street, Narrabundah, for $922,000. In Richards, The Property Collective sold the three-bedroom house at 56 Chauncy Crescent for $750,000.
Clearance rates fell to just 46 per cent last week compared to 67 per cent for the same weekend in 2024.
