75 Sarre Street, Gungahlin, is now on the market for more than $1.175 million.

Strong results continue to be recorded for quality updated homes in sought-after locations; however, buyers still retain the upper hand with a number of properties withdrawn or passed in.

In Spence, the meticulously renovated three-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 6 Crofts Place inspired spirited bidding on Saturday.

Blackshaw’s Michael Braddon said the property attracted seven registered bidders before selling for $1.045 million under the hammer.

Positioned in a coveted cul-de-sac in the heart of Spence and set on a generous 1074-square-metre block, the home had undergone a stunning transformation with high-quality finishes and attention to detail throughout.

In booming Gungahlin, the fully updated home at 75 Sarre Street attracted buyers, but they were all conditional, so the auction was converted to a private sale with an asking price of more than $1.175 million.

MARQ Property’s Luke McAuliffe said they had strong interest in the double-storey residence, adding, “It’s a unique property appealing to a range of buyers”.

Located near the Gungahlin Marketplace, Yerrabi Pond and parklands, the freshly updated home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a triple garage, all set on a low-maintenance block of 384 square metres.

The suburb has continued to rise in popularity, with the median house price experiencing one of the highest growth spurts, increasing by 2 per cent over the past year but by a noteworthy 37 per cent over the past five years.

McAuliffe said agents were now working in a normal market with stable clearance rates and properties continuing to sell.

“Current clearance rates are reflecting a normal market with 50 to 60 per cent still stronger than the pre-pandemic levels achieved,” he said.

Belle Property’s Samantha Linsdell had scheduled the auction of 6 Castor Place, Giralang, as a late week event, with the property passed in at $1.25 million.

Ideally situated in a prized cul-de-sac and just a short stroll from the local shopping centre and schools, the residence is now for private sale with an asking price of more than $1.299 million.

Built in 1991, the four-bedroom, two-bathroom home underwent a substantial renovation, which was completed this year.

The standout home offers expansive family living spaces flowing out to a large covered entertaining deck and landscaped gardens. The quality fittings and finishes include Italian tiled floors, tile heating, double-glazed windows, a ceiling speaker system and an eight-camera security system.
