Canberra’s auction market has sprung back, with owner-occupiers and investors breathing life back into the city.

Luton Properties Tim and Justine Burke sold the impressive four-bedroom residence at 13 Holman Street, Curtin, under the hammer on Saturday for $2.42 million.

Tim Burke said it was a great, well-built home that attracted strong numbers at inspections and four registered bidders on the day.

Built by Turbo Construction, the cleverly designed home features an entrance foyer with a four-metre-high ceiling. Accommodation offers expansive formal and informal living and dining areas, four bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus an outdoor entertainment area boasting a heated swimming pool and a kitchen with a barbecue and pizza oven.

Set on a 782-square-metre block, the distinctive residence is within walking distance of local schools and shops.

Belle Property Canberra’s Bree Currall sold the four-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 12 Looranah Street, Narrabundah, the day before Saturday’s scheduled auction for $1.235 million.

“We had interest from owner-occupiers looking to renovate, but the property sold to an investor who will eventually rebuild on the site.

“We’re starting to see more interest from investors,” she said.

The property’s appeal is its convenient location. It is a short stroll from local shops and popular amenities in nearby Griffith, Manuka, and Kingston. It is also close to expansive parklands, including Rocky Knoll Park and the Narrabundah Wetlands, top-tier public schools such as Red Hill Primary and Narrabundah College, and many coveted private schools.
