Canberra's top real estate agents recognised at REIACT Awards for Excellence

Canberra’s top real estate agents gathered at QT on Saturday for the annual Real Estate Institute of the ACT Awards for Excellence gala dinner.

“Our annual awards are a chance to reflect on the contribution the real estate sector makes to the ACT, and the professionalism and dedication of all the businesses and individuals working in this field,” said REIACT president Michael Kumm.

“This year we celebrated 27 award categories and more than 380 attendees. It shows what a vibrant and successful real estate sector we have in the ACT.”

Mr Kumm said competition was intense, with a new judging platform allowing judges to mark in a more meticulous fashion.

“I would like to commend all the finalists. As in past years, it was an exceptionally strong and tight field,” he said. 

“Many of the categories were separated by the smallest of margins.”

Peter Blackshaw Manuka dominated the auctioneer awards, winning auctioneer franchise of the year. 

Two of its auctioneers took away major prizes: Alec Brown was crowned both auctioneer of the year and Allhomes people’s choice auctioneer of the year, and Jenna Dunley was awarded novice auctioneer of the year.

Independent Property Group Inner North & City won large residential agency of the year, and McGrath Dickson won medium residential agency of the year.

Residential salesperson of the year went to Mario Sanfrancesco of Peter Blackshaw Manuka, and residential property manager of the year went to Renee Bink of Independent Property Group.

McIntyre Property won residential property management team of the year and Our Team of Independent Property Group Inner North & City won residential sales team of the year.

“We were also pleased to note the increased support shown for team-award categories, which is clearly recognition by industry leaders of the importance of this growing culture within real estate to achieve excellence in customer experience for the vendors and purchasers,” said Mr Kumm.

In the commercial sector, Colliers International ACT won commercial agency of the year. Chris Antos of Laing & Simmons won commercial salesperson of the year.
